MIRI: Police are hunting for a 50-year-old man who allegedly rammed his car into his 53-year-old wife after she caught him with another woman inside the vehicle.
"The incident happened on Aug 29 at about 8.30pm along the roadside in Kampung Wireless," said Miri police chief Asst Comm Lim Meng Seah on Saturday (Aug 31).
He said that the man's wife was walking back from the mosque when she saw her husband inside his car which was parked along the side of the road.
"She approached his car and as she got closer, she saw another woman inside with him. She walked towards him from the front and when she was near the car, the husband suddenly accelerated his car and rammed her," said ACP Lim.
He said that the impact threw her onto the side of the road, adding that that she suffered hip injuries caused by the impact.
ACP Lim said that she was rushed to the Miri Hospital after witnesses alerted police.
Police have classified the case under Section 307 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt.
