Cops on the hunt for Myanmar murder suspect

SHAH ALAM: A manhunt is underway for a Myanmar national wanted by police for the alleged murder of his countryman.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Baharudin Mat Taib said the wanted man, identified as Zaw Thin, 36, was last seen in a brawl with the victim at around 8.30pm Thursday (Aug 29) in their shared living quarters in a shophouse at Dataran Otomobil, Seksyen 15.

"According to witnesses at the scene, the two had been drinking and got into a heated argument that turned violent.

"The suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the stomach, killing him before fleeing the scene," he said to a press conference at the Shah Alam police headquarters on Friday (Aug 30).

Both men worked together at a nearby factory.
