KOTA KINABALU: In the Land Below the Wind problems linked to migrants have always been a hot button issue.
Everyone wants it resolved but there has been no solution in sight to what has become a highly politicised situation. It has triggered serious socio-economic and security concerns in the last four to five decades.At a seminar to tackle migrant-related issues facing the state, National Security Council director for Sabah, Sitti Saleha Habib Yussof said migrants, including stateless and illegal immigrants, made up 30% or 1.1 million of the state’s 3.9 million population.
