Penang BN GE13 candidate for Komtar Loh Chye Teik dies after losing cancer battle


GEORGE TOWN: Loh Chye Teik (pic), who was the Penang BN candidate for the Komtar state assembly seat in GE13, died on Sunday (Aug 25) morning at the age of 60.

The UHY Loh Chartered Accountants partner was also Loh Si Tong Chong Seah deputy communications director and youth advisor.

He had also given many talks on taxes and also the economy.

Loh was also former Tanjung Reclamation MCA branch chairman.

Penang MCA chairman Datuk Tan Teik Cheng said Loh was a loyal MCA member who had provided ideas and insights on economic issues.

“I was saddened by the news of Loh’s passing. He was a loyal and practical comrade.

“He had also provided us with valuable and constructive ideas and insights on economic issues.

“We will always remember his unique charm and his contributions, ” he said in a phone interview Sunday.

Loh’s wake will be held at 10, Halaman Bukit Gambir 2, Gelugor, Penang, and the funeral will be on Thursday (Aug 29).

It is learnt that Loh had been battling cancer since earlier this year.

Loh leaves behind his wife and four children.
