PETALING JAYA: The National Economic Forum (NEF) will be held to gather feedback for the formulation of the government’s National Entrepreneur Framework and the 12th Malaysia Plan (2021-2025).

Organised by the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM), the event will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre next Thursday with the theme “Effective Public-Private Partnership – Building A Competitive Nation”.

Malaysian Associated Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MAICCI) secretary-general Datuk Dr A.T. Kumararajah said the organiser aimed to attract at least 800 participants.

NEF 2019 will be officiated by the Prime Minister, and it comprises several sessions discussing issues pertaining to the digital workforce, regional integration, small-medium enterprise landscape, and innovation in financing.

The sessions will feature talks by prominent ministers such as Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, Entrepreneur Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Yusof, Home Affairs Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Human Resources Minister M. Kulasegaran, International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Ignatius Darell Leiking, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng, and Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo.

It will also feature the former chairman of the Council of Eminent Persons, Tun Daim Zainuddin, Bank Negara Malaysia Governor Datuk Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus and Securities Commission Malaysia executive chairman Datuk Syed Zaid Albar, among others.

“Participants will get to ask questions and this will allow feedback to be gathered into the formulation of the National Entrepreneur Framework and the 12th Malaysia Plan.

“This is our immediate input for the policy paper,” said Kumararajah.
