KOTA KINABALU: A video showing Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal asking Warisan members why they are joining Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia is an old one.
The Chief Minister said the matter was no longer an issue as Bersatu was already in Sabah and had agreed to cooperate at the state level.
“That video was from a long time ago. Previously, we were adamant not to have Bersatu in Sabah as at the time there were party members who had concerns and wanted to leave (party) as they did not hold any posts.
“It is actually an old story and today, Bersatu is in Sabah and we will cooperate with them at state level, ” he explained after launching City Hall’s “Kota Kinabalu Moving Forward” programme yesterday.
In the two-minute video, Shafie, who is Warisan president, was seen talking to a group of women who were believed to be Warisan members.
He was heard saying that Sabah Bersatu, which is under Datuk Hajiji Noor’s leadership, was the same as Umno.
“Who is administering (the state), Hajiji or me?
“Who enticed you to join Bersatu?” he said to one of the women, who claimed their voices were not heard in Warisan and wanted positions so they could be heard.
