Robbers cash out RM300, 000 from ATM


Totally wrecked: The ATM that was badly damaged by the thieves during the early morning burglary in Tanjung Malim.

TANJUNG MALIM: Robbers were believed to have used oxy-acetylene tools to open one ATM during a burglary here.

About RM300, 000 was reportedly stolen.

Substances found near the bank were believed to be gas commonly used in welding, said Perak CID chief Senior Asst Comm Anuar Othman.

Chemical liquid was also found near the scene, he said.

“The burglary occurred at about 6.20am yesterday.

“Based on CCTV footage, we saw two suspects, but there could be others.

“We are now trying to look for them. We hope witnesses will come forward, ” he added.

One of the glass doors at the premises was also shattered and three blood patches, believed to be of the suspects, were also found.

“We will send the blood to the forensics laboratory to be analysed, ” SAC Anuar said.
