IT’S a classic Chinese fairy tale but the inclusion of The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl into a Year Five textbook had drawn flak from parents in China, Sin Chew Daily reported.
The story of the star-crossed lovers, who could only meet once a year, has captivated audiences for ages but critics were outraged with a scene in which the cowherd was peeking at the weaver girl bathing in a river.
