PETALING JAYA: State governments will be given stronger powers to handle environmental issues in their respective states, says Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change Minister Yeo Bee Yin.
In a meeting between federal and state ministers responsible for the environment chaired by Yeo, she said state governments would also be required to establish their own environmental committees as part of an effort to take more proactive preventive measures towards monitoring environmental issues in the states.
