Bauxite worth RM1.7mil reported stolen in Gebeng

Suspicious activity: A bird’s eye view of the area where bauxite have been stolen off WM Builder’s stockpile in Gebeng.

KUANTAN: An estimated 15,000 tonnes of bauxite worth about RM1.7mil has apparently been stolen from a site belonging to WM Builder Sdn Bhd in Gebeng.

Its chief operating officer Cheok Kia Yong said staff members discoآ­vered a huge portion had been carved out of the pile of bauxite (aluminium ore) at the company’s site here on July 22.
