Five-year-old dies in Putrajaya accident, parents, three siblings injured

PUTRAJAYA: A five-year-old girl was killed while her three siblings and parents were injured in an accident on Jambatan Seri Ehsan here Saturday (July 27).

Putrajaya OCPD Asst Comm Rosly Hasan said the accident at occurred around 1.30pm.

“Preliminary investigations showed that there was a collision between the victims' MPV and another car at the traffic light.

“All victims were sent to the Putrajaya Hospital for treatment,” he said when contacted Sunday (July 28).

It is believed that the driver and passenger in the other vehicle escaped injuries in the collision.

It is also understood that the deceased’s mother suffered a hip injury. 

Her eight-year-old daughter was injured on the head, whereas her six-year-old son suffered a broken leg and head injuries.

Her other son, aged three, and husband suffered minor injuries.

“The injured eight-year-old is still in the ICU and is in a coma. Investigations have led us to believe that one of the vehicles ran a red light. Follow-up investigations are still ongoing,” ACP Rosly added.
