SHAH ALAM: The decomposing body of an unidentified woman was found floating in Sungai Kandis on Sunday (July 28).

The "Jane Doe" was found Sunday morning, naked and without any identification on her body.

District OCPD Asst Comm Baharudin Mat Taib  said that preliminary investigations showed that the deceased had been dead for about four days.

"There were injuries on her left and right hands. Forensics has put the age of the victim at around 30 to 40 years old.

"No signs of foul play have been found. The source of the injuries has yet to be identified as it could have also been from rubbish hitting against the body, and the flow of the river," he said in a statement released Sunday.

"The case has been clasified as Sudden Death and the body sent to the Shah Alam Hospital for a post mortem.

"Members of the public with information relating to the case, or those who have any missing family members are urged to contact investigating officer Insp Badrul Asyikin at  017-568 9092," he added.
