PETALING JAYA: Malaysians are not compelled to watch their weight through healthy eating and regular exercise because many view obesity as a cosmetic issue rather than a serious health problem.
Nutrition Society of Malaysia president Dr Tee E Siong believes while Malaysians are aware of the detrimental health effects of obesity, they do not feel obliged to take up healthier habits.
