KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will be attending the meeting between the Federal Territories  Ministry and Kampung Baru landowners and their next-of-kin to discuss their preferred buy-out plan on Sept 21, says deputy Federal Territories Minister Datuk Shahruddin Md Salleh.

Shahruddin said the meeting's objective was to gather feedback and get an agreement from all the landowners and their next-of-kin on the proposed redevelopment plans for Kampung Baru.

“The proposal is still being finalised,” he said at the Federal Territories Sports Carnival 2019 in Setiawangsa Sports Complex here Saturday (July 27).

It was earlier reported that Federal Territories Minister Khalid Abdul Samad said they were hoping to get a clear path forward for the redevelopment plans for Kampung Baru by the end of the year.

Khalid said they would present their recommended offer and get their feedback, whether they want it in cash or other forms such as an apartment.

He had said that once the compensation was established, they would be able to plan better.
