KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman has recorded a statement from Datuk Lokman Noor Adam for allegedly calling the Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador a liar.
The allegation is in connection with Abdul Hamid’s handling of the investigation into the sex video implicating Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.
The Umno supreme council member left the federal police headquarters at about 12.40pm yesterday, after his statement was recorded by Bukit Aman CID’s Special Investigation Unit (D5).
“My statement only took 25 minutes to be recorded, but the long wait was because the Bukit Aman CID director was discussing whether to arrest me or not with D5 chief,” he told media members gathered outside the federal police HQ.
Lokman, who was pulling a red luggage bag as he arrived at Bukit Aman, said he was ready to be arrested.
“Normally, this (recording statement) will end with arrest, so if I am arrested, we will see how long they will detain me.
“I stand by my earlier statement that the IGP lied. He has not only lied, but he is protecting criminals,” he said, claiming that the IGP should resign immediately as he is unfit for the job.
Lokman said it was unacceptable that Azmin has not been detained following the analysis of the video by CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM).
“There are two people who can positively identify Azmin in the video ... Haziq (Abdullah Abdul Aziz) and (Datin Seri) Shamsidar Taharin (Azmin’s wife),” he said.
“I don’t understand why he (Azmin) has not been detained.”
On July 18, Abdul Hamid said CSM had determined that the video was likely authentic but it could not conclusively identify the men involved through facial recognition software.
On Wednesday, the IGP said a police report had been lodged against Lokman and he would let his men investigate it.
Eleven people have been detained over the case and eight have been released after their remand expired.
Former Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq and Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, who is PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s political secretary, and Perak PKR chief, were released on Tuesday.
Haziq had confessed publicly that he was one of the two men in the video and alleged that the other person was Azmin.
