PUTRAJAYA: Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers have completed their investigation into an aide of Agriculture and Agro-based Minister Datuk Salahuddin Ayub.
"The investigation papers were sent to the Attorney General's Chambers on July 10 and we are awaiting feedback," said MACC chief commissioner Latheefa Koya on Friday (July 26).
The political secretary was originally arrested on April 1 for allegedly receiving a luxury watch worth RM28,000 as a gift.
The following day, a remand order was obtained to hold him for four days to assist with the investigation.
It was reported earlier that the suspect allegedly received the watch from a developer in return for the political secretary's assistance in securing contracts from the ministry for the developer.
