Let us continue to use state land, farmers tell Perak govt

IPOH: Seven farmers are appealing to the state government to be allowed to continue farming on state land, which had been gifted to the Perak football team and its officials after winning last year’s Malaysia Cup.The order was made by the Kinta Land and District office through a letter dated on July 5. The letter also stated that all farmers must vacate the area within 14 days or face the consequences.

Chok Ying, 71, said his family has been growing corn on the 1.2ha (three acre) land, in Tanah Hitam in Chemor for three generations.
