PETALING JAYA: PKR disciplinary board will issue warning letters to Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak and Selangor Mentri Besar Amirudin Shari to explain their controversial statements regarding the viral sex video issue.
In a statement on Thursday (July 25), the PKR disciplinary board said it had received complaints regarding the conduct of several party members who allegedly issued statements attacking certain individuals.
"On the advice of the political bureau, the disciplinary board will send a letter to Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, Amirudin Shari and several others to be reminded and advised to guard their behaviour as a leader and to prioritise unity of the party," it said.
The board said they would also be asked to explain the controversial statements they made.
"The disciplinary board reserves the right to take action based on the party's disciplinary procedure if the reminder given does not get a positive response from the parties involved," it said.
On Tuesday (July 23), Farhash, who is also the political secretary of PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, along with former Santubong PKR youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz and another man, were released at 4pm at the Dang Wangi police district headquarters after being remanded since July 16 over the sex video scandal.
