MELAKA: Adly Zahari accepted the honorary rank of brigadier-general in his capacity as patron of the Melaka Territorial Army Support Committee and not as a politician, said the Chief Minister’s press secretary Taufek Yahya.
He said Adly was accorded the honour in accordance with Section 198 of the Armed Forces Act 1972, although he had not asked for the rank.
