KUALA LUMPUR: The bomb threat at the Jalan Duta court turned out to be a hoax, say police.

City police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said that police had swept the court complex after receiving the call at 11.10am Thursday (July 25) and found no explosives.

“We evacuated the complex and did a thorough sweep but did not find anything suspicious.

“We are currently trying to trace the origin of the prank call,” he said to a press conference at city police headquarters on Thursday.

The hoax forced the money laundering trial of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to be adjourned from its morning session.

Najib, 66, is facing seven criminal charges over funds belonging to SRC International totalling RM42mil, namely three criminal breach of trust charges, one charge of abuse of power and three charges of money laundering.
