KOTA KINABALU: Authorities have seized 224 packets of the vape-like "Ghost Smoke" candies during a raid on a premise in Petagas near here on Wednesday (July 24).
Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) Sabah director Georgie Abas said the items worth RM122 were believed to be supplied from peninsula Malaysia.
"We found that their main supplier was from West Malaysia," he said.
"We started operations to find these Ghost Smoke candies since July 23 and have so far inspected 125 premises," he added.
Georgie said the seizure on Wednesday was the first one made from all the raids.
"We will continue our crack down against traders who still sell this brand of candy," he said.
He urged the public to provide information if they know of anyone selling these candies.
He said those caught selling the candies can be fined RM100,000 or jailed up to three years or both for the first offence, whereas for the next offence, they can be fined up to RM250,000 or jailed up to five years, or both.
