PETALING JAYA: Water supply to Kuala Selangor and Hulu Selangor has been fully restored following temporary disruption to address odour pollution, while restoration works to five other affected areas would be completed as soon as possible.

Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) said restoration in Kuala Lumpur was 99% completed, followed by Petaling (95%), Gombak (94%), Klang/Shah Alam (91%), and Kuala Langat (78%).

"We are trying our best to speed up the restoration process to all the affected areas by increasing the pressure, and stabilising the flow," said Syabas Customer Relation Department chief Abdul Raof Ahmad in a statement on Sunday (July 21).

Apologising for the inconvenience to consumers, he said they would continue deploying lorries to ferry water tanks to affected areas.

The Sungai Selangor Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3 Water Treatment Plants and the Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plant had to be shut down due to odour pollution that was traced to Sungai Liam in Batang Kali.
