PETALING JAYA: Five people who were arrested together with Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz in connection with the sex video case have been released.
Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Huzir Mohamed said that the five were released after their remand orders expired.
"They were released yesterday (July 18)," he confirmed when contacted on Friday (July 19).
He added, however, that Perak PKR chairman Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak was still under police custody.
On Thursday (July 18), the High Court maintained the six-day remand order for Haziq Abdullah, which will end on Saturday, while reducing the remand order for the five people to four days.
The police have so far remanded nine people in connection to this case, including Farhash, who is also the political secretary of PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
