KAJANG: Bukit Aman will step up efforts against online gambling, including working with foreign law enforcement agencies, says Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador.
The Inspector-General of Police said they were holding talks with counterparts from Singapore, China and Hong Kong to come up with ways to curb such illegal activity.
“For example, Bukit Aman CID is discussing with Singapore police on ways to combat online gambling.
“We will then forward our proposals to the government for consideration,” he said at the General Operations Force’s base in Semenyih yesterday.
As for traditional illegal gambling dens, the IGP said he was satisfied with raids conducted nationwide, asserting that majority of the dens were “out of business”.
“I see the sincerity of our personnel in committing to the highest integrity. It has been translated into consistent raids on gambling dens nationwide.
