PETALING JAYA: MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong (pic) has hit out at DAP for forgetting its previous criticism of the political figures they currently work with.
He said in a Facebook posting that the party is now collaborating with those whom it previously criticised, especially Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
“Dr Mahathir once said ‘Malays easily forget’ (Melayu mudah lupa). Now, the DAP Chinese has forgotten completely,” he wrote yesterday.
He attached two article links, one showing a report dated February 2015 in which DAP leader Lim Kit Siang criticised Dr Mahathir’s premiership.
Lim had reportedly said it was during Dr Mahathir’s tenure as prime minister when Malaysia began its “rot”.
The other link is of a Roketkini article in 2013 stating that Lim had exposed the government’s agenda to profit their cronies in granting contracts to a highway concessionaire.
Dr Wee also attached an undated video, which showed Lim in Parliament asking Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, who was then in Barisan Nasional, a question about Dr Mahathir.
“Do you agree then that a previous prime minister should be charged for abusing his power in sacking Tun Mohamed Salleh Abbas as Lord President?” he was seen asking Mukhriz in the video.
The video showed that Lim was Ipoh Timur MP at the time.
