King may wear historical headgear at installation

PEKAN: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah may wear a decades-old royal headgear at his installation on July 30.

The tanjak has historical significance as it was once worn by the King’s late father Almarhum Paduka Ayahanda Sultan Ahmad Shah at his own installation as the seventh Yang di-Pertuan Agong in 1979.Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah said she had been looking for the headgear for quite some time and found it in the safe possession of the Sultan Abu Bakar Museum in Pekan yesterday.Also found were a few other royal costumes belonging to Sultan Ahmad Shah and a collection of the royal families’ photos.
