KUALA LUMPUR: Six people, who are believed to be members of an illegal online gambling syndicate, were arrested following a raid at a luxury condominium in the Kuchai area here.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team from the Brickfields Anti-Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies Division raided the unit at about 5pm on Wednesday.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Ruslan Khalid said those arrested were five men and a woman, in their 20s.

“We also seized two desktop computers, three laptops, five mobile phones, a mini roulette machine and a cage containing numbered balls.

“We are investigating further to uncover the extent of the syndicate’s network,” he said.

ACP Ruslan also urged anyone with information on illegal gambling activities to contact the Brickfields operations room at 03-2297 9222.

“We hope the public can cooperate more with us on these matters,” he added.
