KUALA LUMPUR: Six people, believed to be members of a illegal online gambling syndicate, were arrested following a raid at a luxury condominium in the Kuchai area.

Acting on a tip off, a team from the Brickfields Anti-Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies Division raided the condominium unit at about 5pm on Wednesday (July 10).

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Ruslan Khalid said those arrested were five men and a woman, all in their 20s.

"We also seized two desktop computers, three laptops, five mobile phones, a mini-roulette machine and a cage containing numbered balls.

"We are investigating further to uncover the extent of the syndicate's network," he said when contacted Thursday (July 11).

He also urged anyone with information on illegal gambling activities to contact the Brickfields operations room at 03-22979222.

"We hope the public can cooperate more with us on the matter," he added.
