KLANG: Bukit Melawati assemblyman Juwairiya Zulkifli (pic) is furious at being implicated in an alleged illicit affair with Selangor Mentri Besar Amirudin Shari.
"It's utter rubbish. I was nowhere in Sandakan at that time.
"I am very angry with this slanderous attempt to ruin my reputation as an individual as well as an elected representative of my constituents and the Selangor state government," she said Thursday (July 11).
According to Juwairiya, whoever is responsible for the slander has disappeared into thin air after initiating the mischief.
"Even the article has been taken down," said Juwairiya, adding that she had already lodged reports with the police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
Juwairiya said she will not leave any stone unturned in seeking out the culprit who slandered her.
On Wednesday (July 10), Amirudin said he was in Kuala Lumpur and not in Sandakan at the time he was allegedly seen at a hotel with Juwairiya on May 11.
A website had published an article Tuesday (July 9) alleging that Amirudin was having an illicit relationship with a woman.
According to the article, CCTV footage from a hotel in Sandakan, Sabah, allegedly showed Amirudin and the woman – who was allegedly an assemblyman – taken during the Sandakan by-election period on May 11.
The article has since been taken offline.
Several PKR assemblymen have voiced their disdain over the latest alleged slander levelled against party colleagues.
Amirudin's political secretary Borhan Aman Shah said the culprits behind baseless allegations and slander must be duly dealt with.
