PETALING JAYA: The return journey for baby Ainul Mardhiah from London after her successful surgery for a Germ Cell Tumour will be delayed for the time being.
Ainul Mardhiah Ahmad Safiuddin was supposed to make the return trip to Malaysia with her parents on Monday (July 8).
The family was supposed to take a 9.35pm flight on Monday, United Kingdom time and was expected to arrive in Malaysia the day after.
Ainul’s mother Nurul Erwani Zaidi said they made the decision to delay the return journey so that her child can be healthier and better prepared for the long journey home.
“Insya-Allah (God willing), there is a possibility that we will be here in London a little longer to make sure Ainul is in a good condition before boarding the flight.
“All this is planned by Allah. We can only make plans but we need to always remember that Allah’s plans are even better.
“However much we plan, it is Allah who determines what is best for us,” said Nurul Erwani on Instagram on Tuesday (July 9).
Nurul Erwani added that she will announce when Ainul is ready to return home.
She also asked for prayers for the health and well-being of her daughter, as well as for the logistics to be ironed out.
“Being Ainul's mother, I hope for prayers that my daughter will be healthy and energetic every day. Ainul really loves to give us surprises.
“I suppose Ainul is comfortable living in London, she feels delighted that the nurses here treat her like a princess,” she said.
Nurul Erwani said they still have sufficient funds for the family to continue their stay in London and they hope to be given space to care for Ainul as best as they can.
The ten-month-old successfully underwent an operation to remove a 200g tumour from her mouth in London last month.
The five-hour surgery which cost more than RM1mil was made possible by the generosity of the Malaysian public and the help of Malaysian-born, UK-based trainee surgeon Dr Nur Amalina Che Bakri.
The plight of the baby girl also attracted the attention of Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who visited her during his trip to Britain last month.
