KOTA KINABALU: A man who went to an interview for a police constable job at the Tawau police station was nabbed after he tested positive for drugs.
The 21-year-old guy was told that he failed the screening before he was nabbed following Thursday’s interview.
Sabah police chief Datuk Omar Mammah said the job interviewee had admitted to being a drug addict during the past year.
“He also revealed that he does drugs about five times a week and that he gets his supply from a pusher in Kota Kinabalu,” he told reporters after the arrest.
Omar said the suspect bought his drugs at RM50 for each small packet.
He also said there had been such arrests during interview sessions over the past years.
“Please make sure you are clean from all forms of crime before you come and interview to become a policeman,” he advised.
He said they would be able to detect any form of wrongdoing during the interview and screening sessions.
