Vida says sorry to singer Aishah over fake diamond necklace debacle

IPOH: Cosmetic tycoon Datuk Seri Hasmiza Othman, or Datuk Seri Vida, has publicly apologised to singer Aishah over the fake diamond necklace debacle.

"I am here today to offer my sincere apology to Aishah for the misrepresentation of the jewellery prize in Gegar Vaganza 4," she told a press conference held at her house at Persiaran Bukit Meru here on Saturday (July 6).

"During the mediation, I was asked to have a press conference with the media to issue this apology. I am meeting the demands," she added.

It was reported that Hasmiza was ordered to apologise to the singer, whose full name is Wan Aishah Wan Ariffin, and to compensate the latter over the jewellery, that was said to be worth about RM80,000.

The decision was made following a mediation between both parties at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court on July 1.

The jewellery was a prize sponsored by Hasmiza for the singing competition that was held in 2017.

Last year, Aishah had found the jewellery to be fake after sending it to be evaluated at a goldsmith shop.
