KAJANG: A total of 46 people were detained for various drug-related offences, following swoops on drug dens in Kajang and Semenyih.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said 44 Malaysians were arrested along with two foreigners from Myanmar and Palestine during the operations which were conducted between 4am and 8pm on Wednesday (July 3).
"The majority of those detained did not have proper jobs, and they were in the midst of getting their drug supplies from their dealers.
"Among those arrested were seven people on the police wanted list for drug consumption," he said.
ACP Ahmad Dzaffir added that some 59.92g of heroin worth RM2,100 were also seized during the raids.
"We are consistently busting drug dens in the district to combat the drug menace.
"One of our main aims is to reduce the supply and demand for drugs. The success of the operations was due to tip-off from the public," he said.
