Settler stumbles across unexploded bomb in Hulu Selangor oil palm estate


HULU SELANGOR: A settler stumbled onto an unexploded bomb while working in an oil palm estate here on Wednesday (July 3).

Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt Lim Bak Phai said the incident occurred at around 9am on Wednesday.

"The 27-year-old man was working in the field at Felda Gedangsa when he made the shocking discovery.

"He immediately rushed to the Gedangsa police station to inform us about the object that looked like a bomb," he said when contacted on Wednesday.

He said the bomb measured about 42cm long and had a 30cm diameter.

"The Selangor and Hulu Selangor police weapons division conducted a further investigation and found that the object was indeed an unexploded bomb.

"The bomb was detonated safely at around 3pm, without causing any damage or injury," he said.
