KUALA LUMPUR: Some RM231,900's worth of cash, wristwatches and alcoholic beverages were stolen from an office in Taman Miharja here following a break-in.

City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Rusdi Md Isa said a 45-year-old employee of the company reported the incident after she arrived at the office at about 7.30am on Monday (July 1).

"Once police arrived at scene, we discovered that the office was in a mess, with visible signs of a break-in.

"We believe the culprits entered through a ceiling on the third floor of the office building," he said when contacted.

CCTV footages showed two men breaking into the office, he added.

In another case, thieves escaped with a woman's handbag after a smash-and-grab at a traffic light on Jalan Gombak on Tuesday (July 2).

SAC Rusdi said the woman was driving along Jalan Gombak at about 9.37am and stopped at a traffic light when two men on a motorcycle came from behind and smashed the passenger side front window.

"The culprits escaped with personal documents and about RM2,000 in cash.

"The victim was not hurt during the incident," he said.

The police were actively hunting those responsible, SAC Rusdi added.
