LOCAL songstress Jeryl Lee Pei Ling (pic) is making forays into the film industry and will appear in a movie titled Xing Fu Mi Ma (Password to Happiness), reported Sin Chew Daily.
Following that, the 19-year-old Penangite will be giving up her place in the Chinese talent competition The Coming One Season 3 due to scheduling conflicts.
“(The movie’s) filming schedule overlaps with filming for The Coming One.
“As such, I decided to give up the competition,” she said during the launch of her new single I Wanna Be Free in Kuala Lumpur recently.
Lee said she had successfully entered the top 100 in The Coming One, adding that it made her both “nervous and excited”.
Lee propelled to fame when she performed in Beijing’s famous Bird’s Nest Stadium in 2016, at the grand finals of the Sing! China competition.
She beat 14 other international singers and made it into the Top Six.
