Man held over road bullying fracas

PETALING JAYA: A 44-year-old man has been detained in connection with the viral video clips of a road bullying incident involving two men in Cheras Balakong.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said the suspect was arrested at Taman Putri Jaya in Cheras at about 4.20pm yesterday.

“The suspect admitted to being one of the men in the viral video.

“He said he got angry after the victim cut the queue when turning into a junction,” he said.

Checks at Kajang Hospital revealed that the victim sustained bruises to his face, a fractured nose and broken wrist, he said.

The suspect will be remanded today.

The two clips of 47 seconds and 20 seconds show how the two men get out of their cars and subsequently punch and kick each other in the incident which occurred in Jalan Dataran Cheras 2, Cheras Traders in Cheras Balakong.

Photos of one of the men bleeding were also circulated.

ACP Ahmad Dzaffir said a report on the case was lodged by police personnel but the victim has not come forward to lodge his report.
