PETALING JAYA: A police report has been lodged against a Twitter account that is alleged to have spread slanderous tweets against PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his family.

Federal Territories PKR Youth chief Na'im Brundage said that he had also named several individuals suspected to be behind the account @PecatFaekah in the police report.

He said that the allegations started on June 12, just after the sex video clips of two men, one of them purportedly Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, was circulated on social media.

"The authenticity of the allegations that these individuals are behind the account should be investigated by the police so that they can be brought to justice," he said in a statement on Friday (June 21).

The account had suggested that Anwar was the mastermind behind the spread of the sex videos.

In the past week, clips of a sex video involving two men have gone viral, followed by a confession by Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz, who is also Santubong PKR Youth chief, that he was one of the two men in the video.

He also claimed that the other person was Azmin, who had categorically denied the allegation, saying it was made to tarnish his reputation and destroy his political career.

Haziq was later sacked as the senior private secretary to the Deputy Primary Industries Minister.
