MANILA: Philippine security forces are closely monitoring Tawi-Tawi and Sulu provinces after 10 Malaysian fishermen were kidnapped last Tuesday by suspected Abu Sayyaf gunmen off Sabah’s waters as they were believed to be taken to the bandits’ jungle lair in southern Philippines, Xinhua news agency reported.
Philippine Defence Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said on Wednesday that Philippine troops have been alerted.
