Quick action foils would-be car thieves, one still at large


SHAH ALAM: An attempt by two men to rob a car service centre here was foiled after a quick action prevented their targeted vehicle from being driven off .  

In the incident on Tuesday (June 18), the car driven by the thieves rammed into a worker there and it came to a halt.  

One suspect was immediately caught and the other managed to flee.  

Checks on both the suspects showed prior drug charges.  

The injured worker required surgery following the botched theft and is said to be in a stable condition at the Shah Alam Hospital.  

A statement by Shah Alam police said the other suspect was still at large.  

He has been identified as 37-year-old Darma Suria Risman Salleh.  

He urged the public to contact the police should they have any information on his whereabouts. The man is sought to help in police investigations.

It is believed his last know address was in Port Klang.
