Ten hurt in crash involving 14 vehicles on NKVE

PETALING JAYA: Ten people, including five children, were injured following an accident involving 14 vehicles along the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) northbound heading to Klang early Tuesday (June 18) morning.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din said all 10 victims sustained minor injuries while others escaped unhurt during the incident that occurred at about 12.25am.

He said the incident occurred when the driver of a lorry carrying vegetables lost control of his vehicle, which skidded and crashed into several vehicles, including two cars belonging to the police and the Armed Forces.

"The victims were sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment.

"Most of the victims were discharged after receiving treatment," he said.

ACP Mohd Zani said the 36-year-old lorry driver has been detained to assist investigations.

He said the case has been classified under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving.
