KUALA LUMPUR: City police have recorded a drop in fatalities during Ops Selamat 15 compared with the previous road safety campaigns, says Comm Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim.
The City police chief said that there were six deaths this year here compared with 14 deaths in 2018.
"Meanwhile, there have been 2,788 road accidents and the police have issued 23,380 summonses in the same time period," he said.
He added that six road offences were highlighted during Ops Selamat 15.
They were speeding, driving on the emergency lane, cutting queues, not stopping at traffic lights, driving while using a hand phone and overtaking on double lines
