Driver’s close brush with death

ALOR SETAR: A man was nearly killed when the car he was driving skidded and plunged into Sungai Ketil in Baling.

The driver was said to be travelling from Jalan Kuala Ketil to Parit Pan­jang at 10.45pm on Saturday.

Baling acting police chief Supt Abd Fatah Abd Rahman said the man is be­­lie­ved to have fallen asleep at the wheel.

In Kuantan, four people were killed in a mishap involving two lorries and a car on Jalan Kuari Bukit Mendi-Felda Bukit Mendi in Bera.State Fire and Rescue Department deputy director Mohd Sani Harul said the victims – a man, two women and a girl – were from the car. — Bernama
