Miri armed robbery trio busted, 11 cases solved

MIRI: Police have busted a criminal trio believed to be responsible for 11 cases of armed robberies and break-ins here.  

The gang would target supermarkets, shops and 24-hour convenient stores in the Miri and Kuala Baram districts.  

Police busted the gang after arresting the three suspects in several locations over the past few days.  

Miri police chief Asst Comm Lim Meng Seah said the three men were aged between 25 and 37.  

"With their arrests, we have solved 11 cases of armed robberies and break-ins," he said on Sunday (June 16).  

The trio were nabbed during police raids in the Tudan squatter resettlement scheme and two other middle-class residential estates.  

The police also seized weapons, helmets, jackets, a motorcycle, a car and other items from the suspects.
