PETALING JAYA: Datuk Lokman Noor Adam (pic) and MIC member Gobalakrishnan Nagapan, who were arrested on Thursday (June 13) for obstructing police investigations, have been released on police bail.
Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Fadzil Ahmat said the two men were released on bail at around 7am Friday (June 14) after preliminary investigations were completed.
He said the case was being investigated as obstructing a public servant from discharging his duty and using abusive language.
It was reported that the two men were arrested after refusing to cooperate with the police when they went to search Lokman's house in Kajang Hillpark on Thursday afternoon.
Earlier that day, Lokman, who is an Umno supreme council member, had given a statement to the police over sex videos that implicated Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.
During the search, Lokman was instructed to hand over his phone for inspection but he refused.
He also shouted at the officer doing his duty there.
Lokman and Gobalakrishnan were then detained and brought to the Kajang police headquarters for further action.
The police went to Lokman's house for an investigation under Section 504 of the Penal Code, which is for intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace.
On Tuesday (June 11), Lokman had lodged a report at the Putrajaya police headquarters, calling for a full investigation to be conducted.
