KUALA LUMPUR: Police confirmed that six Malaysians were arrested in Indonesia for allegedly smuggling 37kg of syabu.
They were alerted to the arrest only after Indonesian police detained the suspects, said Federal deputy Narcotics Crime Investigation Department director Deputy Comm Zulkifli Ali.
“This was not a joint operation, which is why we were only informed after they were arrested.
“We are now making arrangements to send a team of investigators to Jakarta to question the suspects,” he said yesterday.
Bernama reported of the six being detained on suspicion of smuggling crystal methamphetamine, better known as syabu, aboard a luxury yacht on June 4.
