Stay clear of sex video scandal, PAS tells members

PETALING JAYA: PAS members should not get involved in the sex video scandal that has gone viral by spreading false accusations against fellow Muslims, says PAS ulama chief Datuk Dr Mahfodz Mohamed (pic).

“As Muslims, it is against Islamic law (syariah) to make an accusation (qazaf) unless it is personally witnessed.

“We should not waste time on social media gossiping and spreading accusations against one another,” he said when contacted Wednesday (June 12).

However, Dr Mahfodz said the relevant authorities should investigate the video, including taking action against the individual who had confessed to being one of the men in the clips.

Muhammad Haziq Abdul Aziz, who is the senior private secretary to Deputy Primary Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, made the confession in a 30-second clip posted on Facebook at 2.30am on Wednesday.

Muhammad Haziq, who also named the minister, said the recording of the alleged sex act was done without his consent at the Four Points Hotel during the Sandakan parliamentary by-election in May.
