PETALING JAYA: Umno Youth has called on the public not to disseminate a viral video of a lewd act allegedly targeting a minister.

Its chief Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said he was aware of the clip, linked to a leader, which has been spread among various WhatsApp groups and social media platforms.

"My view is that we should stick to the principles in Islam to prevent ourselves from spreading such videos as to no incur Allah's wrath, which will see our own shames exposed in this and the next world," he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday (June 11).

Dr Asyraf also expressed concerns over the video's authenticity.

"What is more worrying is if the video is fake. Surely, it will be a big sin, and a heavier punishment from Allah to befall on us," he wrote.

The video shows two men getting intimate on a bed in an undisclosed location. The authenticity of the video has yet to be verified.
