Indian national beaten to death in Ipoh, three suspects arrested


IPOH: An Indian national was severely beaten at a barbershop in Pekan Razaki here early Saturday (June 8) and eventually succumbed to his injuries.

Deputy Ipoh OCPD Superintendent Mazuki Mat said the male victim, 56, who worked at the shop, died while being treated at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here at 2.15am Sunday (June 9).

"The police forensic unit found 15 bloodstains on the wall, a sofa and a bed at the workers' quarters located in the back of the building.

"We arrested three male suspects aged between 20 and 40," he said.

"We also seized a shirt and a pair of shoes belonging to one of the suspects," he added.

Supt Mazuki said there was no footage of the incident as the shop's CCTV was spoilt.

"We will investigate the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

"The post-mortem on the body will be conducted Monday morning to determine the actual cause of death," he added.
