SEREMBAN: The state government donated RM6,000 to the next of kin of the couple and child killed by a lightning strike on Tuesday.
State human capital, plantations and non-Muslim affairs committee chairman J. Arul Kumar said the money was to help with funeral expenses.
“This is a very sad incident where three of the four family members died.
“The state government will provide financial aid to help with the funeral arrangements,” he said in a statement.
On Wednesday, a couple and their child were found dead at a goat shed in Felda Palong Enam near here. They were believed to have been struck by lightning.
In the incident at 4pm, S. Elangovan, 38, P. Kaliammah, 36, and their son, E. Vinesh, three, died on the spot. The couple’s other child, aged nine, was injured in the leg during the incident. — Bernama
